Idalina Di Meglio (Andrade)

Idalina has lived in Vilcabamba since November 2022.  She speaks English, Spanish and French. She is fifty-two years old and grew up, studied and worked in France. She graduated as a Nurse in France in 1994.  She has had 28 years of experience in hospitals and home care.  She is discreet, calm and patient and can help you with your medical care and daily needs.

Paola Escobar

Paola was born in Quito, moved to Spain to study and work and then returned to Ecuador.  She has been a Caregiver for the past 20 years both in Spain and Ecuador.  She is fully bilingual and looking for a full-time, live-in position.

Liz Vergara

Liz is Peruvian from the historic and beautiful city of Cusco. She has lived in Vilcabamba since 2008, and is intimately acquainted with how things work here. She is bilingual, well-connected, and has already helped many foreigners around Vilcabamba with her “personal assistant” service … “Liz’s Magic Touch.” Liz has had experience working with people with dementia, and accordingly, has a great deal of patience and empathy. Luz Ortiz

Luz is a Spanish teacher from Los Huilcos, Vilcabamba. Her English is good since her work as a Spanish teacher gives her the opportunity to speak in both languages. Luz’ search for knowledge and service work is varied and impressive. Her experience with children includes training in Initial and Basic Education. She is also President of the Vilcabamba Women’s Association, where she channels her love and dedication to the women and elders of Vilcabamba. Luz has a degree in Educational Sciences; specializing in Childhood Psychology and Basic Education. She also trained for 4 years at the National University of Loja, and 4 years at the Technical University of Cotopaxi. Luz had two years of training with teachers from Cuba in pedagogy, evolutionary development of the child and teaching methodology and techniques. Caring for others and service is basically Luz’ life’s work. She also spearheads programs to collect food and essential items for the less fortunate in our community. Her love for the elderly and her desire not to see them suffer led her to our palliative care program. We are glad she found us! Marisol Clayton

Marisol has helped and been present with several older expats when they’ve been ill, had to travel and when they’ve left this dimension. She is fluent in English and Spanish, her parents are Martha and Glenn Clayton, an American family who’ve been here in Vilcabamba for over 40 years. Marisol is born and raised in Vilcabamba but has US citizenship and is able to travel internationally at need. She is a great domestic caretaker but not a nurse, she can change bedding, diapers, cook, clean and assist with moving people. She’s honest and cares for people with respect and kindness. Gloria Piedad Cajas

Piedad is a native of Vilcabamba; speaks Spanish and her English is quite good as well. She worked in Madrid, Spain for 3 years doing government work and had many eye opening experiences. Currently, she takes joy working with children with disabilities in Loja, Malacatos, Yangana, and Quinara. She loves working with people and regards caregiving as her chosen vocation. Gloria feels a strong need to ensure the welfare of her patients; regarding it as her moral and ethical responsibility. She includes cooking, cleaning and personal patient care among her many skills. Juan Carlos Sanchez Cabrera

Juan is a self motivated man of heart and many talents. He has his own business which includes: gardening, plumbing, electrical work, and welding. He has also set up innovative hydroponic systems in the Vilcabamba area. He hails from San Pedro Vilcabamba and has his own transportation. He studies English with the Rosetta Stone and is eager and quite fluent already. He has worked security at Hacienda San Joaquin and is also a volunteer fireman. He has basic first aid training as a volunteer Bombero. He has experience in caregiving as he cares for his mother who is infirm. He loves helping people and is extremely patient and caring. He also enjoys cooking, cleaning and learning from new experiences. Honesty to him is of utmost importance. His best hours to work as a caregiver would be evenings and overnight shifts. Damaris Abigail Montano Paltin

Damaris lives in Carango, has a certificate as a Nursing Assistant, a Bachelor’s Degree, extensive training in first aid, emergency care and human relations. Damaris speaks Spanish and basic English. She has worked at Estancia in Vilcabamba, did an internship at a senior home in Catamayo and has experience with Alzheimer patients. Damaris devotes her attention to her clients with respect, patience and efficiency. She loves taking care of others and helping her family. She is good at cooking, cleaning and patient hygiene. Catalina
Ochoa

Catalina is a Medical Advocate extraordinaire, who lives in Chaupi; speaks Spanish and understands some English. She worked in Loja and Vilcabamba hospitals for 3 years and her knowledge of how IESS works, her contacts with doctors, hospitals and clinics in Loja are invaluable. She also has extensive live-in experience as a Nanny and caregiver here and in Spain. She has been a reliable, loving, supportive caregiver for many in the gringo and Ecuadorian communities in the Vilcabamba and Loja area for years and has extensive references. Gabriela Bermeo Carpio

Gabriela enjoys taking care of the sick and has received basic first aid training. She lives in Vilcabamba and speaks Spanish with very little English. She enjoys helping others and supporting her family. Gabriela analyzes all aspects; from medications to hygiene, for a patient and proceeds with patience and tolerance. She will always do her best. Alexandra Elizabeth Rojas

Alexandra has experience with children, young adults and the elderly in her profession as a Nursing Assistant. She worked for a year at the IESS Hospital de Celica in Loja; and, in Vilcabamba worked in specialized care. She comes from Vilcabamba and speaks Spanish. She likes her work and treats her patients as if they were family; earning their trust and confidence.
